Born in Kako, Masaka, is a loving mother, a professional
teacher, and, above all, a God-fearing woman, from the powerful Kinyomo Clan of the
Buganda Kingdom.
Mrs. Semujju, commonly known as Tr. Mabel (or Jajja Mabel to her grandchildren) has
taught for over 40 years. She has a passion for her community and serves as a role
model and model for many. Tr. Mabel has been a strong pillar for Shiperoy, helping it
grow from its grassroots beginnings to its current standing.
She has built the foundation of Shiperoy on the principles of God, love, and peace. By
instilling good values in the entire school community, she actively involves all staff,
children, and parents. Tr. Mabel is known for being strong, friendly, approachable, calm,
down-to-earth, sensible, very principled, and dedicated to her goals.
Early in her career, Tr. Mabel taught at Shimon Demonstration School and held
leadership roles as Head of the Mathematics Department and Patron of the Wildlife
Club. She later joined the Molly and Paul Education Institute, where she served as the
Head of Liturgy. She later joined Katwe Primary School, where she served as the
teachers' representative on the PTA. Other roles included Senior Woman Teacher and Head of the Mathematics Department.
In addition to teaching, Mrs. Mabel Semujju ventured into several business
opportunities, including market vending, poultry keeping, farming, and event
management. Aside from that, she also volunteered at St. Luke's COU Kibuye, as
Sunday school teacher.
In 1997, driven by her true calling of service above self, Mrs. Semujju founded Shiperoy
to provide underprivileged families with affordable access to quality education. Since its
inception, Shiperoy has continued to grow and now accommodates over 850 students
while employing more than 50 staff members. Mrs. Semujju has consistently worked
with ambition, zeal, and courage to ensure the advancement of Shiperoy. We pray that
God grants her the strength to continue serving our community and to help the school
grow beyond her imagination.
